Watch Perfume Genius’ Beautifully Eccentric Video for New Single “Grid”
The Seattle musician unveils his latest pulsating single from the upcoming Too Bright album in a video directed by Charlotte Rutherford.
Continuing with the bold, brash sound that was evident on his recent single “Queen,” Seattle artist Mike Hadreas, aka Perfume Genius, has released a video for another new track, the hauntingly pulsating “Grid” from his upcoming album Too Bright. And just like the “Queen” video, the Charlotte Rutherford-directed clip for “Grid” is an eccentric piece of conceptual art. It features our hero in unusual circumstances, from being tugged and pulled by silver-clad dancers to sitting on a table surrounded by garish-looking food and '60s B-movie characters. In other words, weirdness never looked or sounded this good. Too Bright comes out via Matador on September 21st, a few days before Hadreas embarks on a two-month North American tour. And while you're checking out that clip, watch The FADER's interview with Hadreas from a couple of years back.
