Gun$ Garcia is a DJ from Philly who's associated with both New Jersey's Brick Bandits crew and Diplo's Mad Decent lot. In an email to The FADER, Jersey Club producer UNiiQU3 called her "very much a mentor to me." Garcia's latest mix, which The FADER is premiering today, is just the thing to curb the sharp chill of these short winter days. Spanning lonesome R&B and skin-tingling club tracks, it's packed with heat from Kitty Cash, FKA Twigs, and Anna Lunoe. "My inspiration for PRETENDING 2 CARE was the break-up between Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa," Gun$ Garcia told The FADER. "I was up super late one night, high on diet pills and feeling feelings, so I hit the turntables and recorded this emotional opus. I'm obsessed with melancholy indie dance jams, and bands like Wet and Misun make songs that make me feel like they know me, and I wanted to spread those vibes through this compilation. I don't want to say that this is strictly a break-up mix because there are some hopeful moments. But in all honesty, PRETENDING 2 CARE might make you cry."
