Nicki Minaj Goes American Hustle In Her First High Fashion Campaign

“I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body, who is not afraid to show her curves, rather she make them as a strength.”

Old-school glamour label Roberto Cavalli has coaxed Nicki Minaj into a softer look for their spring campaign. Ever since Nicki rocked that '70s country-star gown at the AMAs, we've been itching to see her in more vintage-inspired duds, and these images really hit the spot. Even though this is her first high fashion campaign, she pulls off the throwback looks with fully modern aplomb. She's wearing more clothes than we're used to seeing her in, but her body is still unstoppable. In a press release the designer wrote, "In recent years we have become accustomed to women castigated in clothes that hide their body shapes. With this campaign, I wanted to send a strong countertrend message. I wanted a sensual woman who is aware of her body, who is not afraid to show her curves, rather she make them as a strength."
