Why does everything sound like "Loyal" these days? Okay, that might be an exaggeration—but still, at a time when another Chris Brown song, "New Flame," sits atop the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, it's wild how the repugnant-yet-highly-enjoyable fragrance of "Loyal" still hangs in the musical air. This is partially because of Brown: his recent single with Tyga, "Ayo," carries "Loyal"'s loopy melodic stutter, and so does this Kid Ink collab, "Hotel," a song with a title so similar that while writing this post I accidentally referred to it as "Loyal" twice. Crazy!
Kid Ink's new album, Full Speed, comes out February 3—and hey, here's the star-studded tracklist for it too, featuring appearances from Usher, R. Kelly, Migos, Tinashe, Young Thug, Dej Loaf, and Trey Songz. That's a lot of famous people!
