Nosaj Thing Collaborates With Kendrick Lamar Producer Whoarei

“Don’t Mind Me” is another lush single from the L.A. producer’s forthcoming album.

Following his collaboration with Chance The Rapper, L.A. producer Nosaj Thing delivers the second satisfyingly low-key single from his upcoming third album, Fated. "Don't Mind Me" is as undeniably polished as his other work, with the rich, resonant tones of his palette sounding like thick raindrops hitting the surface of a pond. The breathy vocals are the work of Whoarei, an artist from Northern California who has a production credit on Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly. After hearing his work through a friend, Nosaj Thing signed Whoarei to his own label Timetable, and they started toying with sounds together. "When I was first working on 'Don't Mind Me,' I just heard his voice on it in my head," Nosaj Thing told The FADER. "I sent him the track and he recorded the vocals on his phone. He told me he was into that lo-fi vibe so I rolled with it." Innovative Leisure/Timetable Records will release Fated on May 5th.
