Jeremih Secretly Has An International Summer Hit That We Didn’t Know About

Krept & Konan’s “Freak of the Week” will hit radio in the US in a week.

Well, England already knew. Jeremih's already got a chart success with Natalie LaRose, his own dance track, and an album on the way, but he's also got an international crossover with "Freak of the Week," a collaboration with London rap duo Krept & Konan. The song's taken from Krept & Konan's major label debut (they've been dropping tapes since 2009), and it's been viewed more than 2 million times on YouTube in the four weeks since its release.

The beat is DJ Mustard, and seems to riff on the Playground riddim. (The song's title interpolates this classic, which has also been sampled by French Montana.) For now "Freak of the Week" is No. 29 on the UK's Shazam charts; a label rep tells The FADER it will impact US radio next week.
