Maxo Revives A Gem From The First Pokémon Movie Soundtrack

Just in time for the franchise’s 20th anniversary.

A couple days ago, we shared those super adorable Pikachu caps that BEAMS and New Era are producing in honor of Pokémon's 20th birthday. Today, hyperactive Brooklyn producer Maxo shares his own tribute: a "bombmix" of Angela Via's "Catch Me If You Can." You might not know the original song by name, but if you ever saw Pokémon: The First Movie as a kid (or watched it three times a day, like me) then you may remember it from the soundtrack. Maxo bumps up the tempo waaay past 128 BPM (Zac Efron's standards be damned) and completely lives up to his nickname of "chordslayer" on this remix. Stream it below.
