Empress Of Gets Trippy in “Water Water” Video

Plus listen to a Spanish version of the song, too.

Brooklyn own's Empress Of has released the video for her spacey tune "Water Water." The video is filled with double vision images—the kind you get after one two many drinks—and lots of face from the woman behind Empress Of, Lorely Rodriguez. The only thing missing is actual water: “I wanted to make a video that made me experience the emotions I felt when I wrote the song," Rodriguez revealed in the press release. "Mostly like drowning in that synth pad.” The song is a tribute to the creative time Rodriguez spent while on a writing retreat in Mexico.

A Spanish version of the song, "Agua Agua," premiered earlier today on Noisey Mexico. The translation is a gift for one person in particular: “I wanted my mom to be able to sing along in Spanish,” Rodriguez continued.
