Watch The Lonely Clip For Jessy Lanza’s Collaboration With Teklife

Inflatable tube men can’t love you back.

The Canadian post-Aaliyah R&B singer Jessy Lanza recently teamed up with Tek Life’s DJ Spinn and Taso for a distressed, seductive number, “You Never Show Your Love.” The song is almost petulant in its single-mindedness: the title phrase is repeated 16 times during the course of the track, as Lanza becomes increasingly frustrated with her current state of limbo. The video for the tune does a lot with a simple concept: it’s just the singer and some of those inflatable, waving tube men, who float around in the wind, completely impervious to her entreaties. She stands alone at a keyboard in front of a large warehouse labelled “Body & Paint,” but the paint is peeling—it kind of looks like “Body & Pain.”
