When Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president today, more than a few eyebrows were raised. Two of those belong to Neil Young, whose 1989 anthem "Rockin' In the Free World" soundtracked Trump's strut onto the stage. Young, obviously, did not not sign off on Trump appropriation of the song and has issued a statement to make that 100% clear. "Donald Trump was not authorized to use "Rockin' In The Free World" in his presidential candidacy announcement," the rock icon said, before revealing his choice for presidential candidate. "Neil Young, a Canadian citizen, is a supporter of Bernie Sanders for President of the United States of America." Check out a clip of Trump's announcement above.
