On her second original single—following a gloomy take on a Britney classic—Swedish electro-pop artist MIYNT is putting the wave in waveform. "The inspiration for making this song, both production and lyrics-wise, was the waves," MIYNT told The FADER over email of "Civil War," a sparkling pop jam on which she sighs, like the waves, you just come back. "How they always move back and forward, and even though the shape and the amount of power changes, they are constantly drawn back into the ocean. Not too different from how love can appear sometimes. I wanted to make a beat that sounded like that." From her hypnotic debut video, you can see plainly that MIYNT is setting out to create work—or even a whole self-contained world—as seamlessly fluid as her subject matter.
