It's no easy thing being an aging rapper. It's a delicate dance, balancing the sound of your prime with where you're at now. But that's exactly why Sheek Louch's "Bang Bang," premiering on The FADER today, thrills me so much—Sheek maintains his 914 swagger and bravado over the cold, dancehall-sampling track, and Pusha T comes through with typically smooth and menacing bars. Twenty years ago, Puff signed The LOX signed to Bad Boy, and it's been 18 since the Yonkers trio had us all demanding money, power, and respect. It's 2015, and it's still D-Block!

"Late last year I was overseas on tour with Ghostface Killah. I was sitting in my room in Australia going through tracks on my laptop for my next album and was wanting something really different," Sheek explained to The FADER in an email. "So I reached out to my boy Shroom from the Netherlands. He sent me some tracks immediately and one of them happened to be 'Bang Bang.' My DJ thought it was sick! l could hear me and Pusha T killing that shit. I gave him a call and we did that joint asap. BANG BANG!"
