The relationship between Birdman and Lil Wayne seemingly took a turn for the worse in 2015. But despite reports of million dollar lawsuits between the two men, Birdman maintained a positive attitude in the press. "[Wayne] forever my son," he said in July. "That ain't gonna change no matter what... What's going on is just some business. My perspective is: I'm gonna do whatever he wanna do. He's still gonna be my son."
According to Mack Maine's Instagram, Birdman and Lil Wayne started 2016 by peacefully coexisting at the same club in Miami. Maine posted a pair of group photos from the event. "Happy New Year ya heard me!," he wrote in the caption. "Yea that's Stunna yea that's Tune yea that's 2Chainz yea that Hood yea that's T@ yea that's Mack yea 2 da yea love 2 da love!!!! #FamilyLiveAtDrakePartyHePerformingRightNow." For the next photo, he added, "United We Stand Divided We Fall!! #AubreyJustFinishedPerforming."
