Chelsea Lankes Proves She’s Better Than Some Dumb Boy On “Bullet”

A shot through the heart of winter.

February 10, 2016

Following up this past summer's jams, L.A. singer Chelsea Lankes aims her warm and dance-y pop sensibilities at the heart of winter with "Bullet." Heavy on the hooks, "Bullet" is about moving on from a crappy relationship and being really down with yourself—Better than I've ever looked/ Boy I never felt this cool—which is the best kind of way to end it with someone who clearly and simply was not good enough for you.

"It was so fun to write and there's nothing about it that's an imitation of what's out in the world right now and I'm really proud of that," Lankes told The FADER over email. "The song is just about not taking a breakup so seriously—calling a stupid relationship and dumb boy for what they are and moving on. It's empowering and a different side of me as an artist that I'm excited to share with fans."
