This Wolf & Witnessing Tune Should Rule Dancefloors From Mexico City To Montreal

Plus listen to Stockholm producer Kablam’s beautifully serrated remix of “Acapulco.”

February 10, 2016

Wolf is an electronic music producer who splits his time between Mexico City and Montreal; he also runs a record label called Infinite Machine. Witnessing is a Montreal-based producer who makes distorted dancefloor tracks. The two friends come together on "Acapulco," a burnt-edged, big-room tune that threads a rhythm evoking their shared Latin American roots through punchy bass, sharp kicks, and choral flourishes. To complete this release on Berlin label WDIS, the duo enlisted Stockholm producer Kablam for a pleasingly serrated remix; both that and the original are streaming below.

"'Acapulco' is the coalescence of a rekindled friendship," Wolf & Witnessing told The FADER. "It constitutes a critical discourse with our Latin heritage and the importance of incorporating this aspect of our identities into the symbiotic evolution of our musical structures." WDIS will release Wolf & Witnessing's "Acapulco" single and Kablam remix on March 4. Listen close.
