The Coathangers Are Mad As Hell On “Nosebleed Weekend”

“Do what you wanna do, be super cool, but when all is said and done and life catches up, you might end up with a bloody nose.”

February 16, 2016

Atlanta-based, veteran garage rock trio The Coathangers are back in action with a new album called Nosebleed Weekend, out April 15 on Suicide Squeeze Records. Premiering today is the record's title track, which the band's guitarist slash vocalist Julia Kugel told The FADER over email is "about karma." This is the song you listen to when you're mad as hell about someone being a dick to you, and you're about to go boozing with your gang to blow off steam.

“Know when you’re being a total jerk to people and you're cruisin' for a bruisin'? That’s what 'Nosebleed Weekend' is about," Kugel explained. "Do what you wanna do, be super cool, but when all is said and done and life catches up, you might end up with a bloody nose.” People are often hurtful with their own self-absorption, but it's alright if you end up with sore knuckles and a headache after a rage-filled weekend is over as long as you accept the consequences, because at least The Coathangers, with this song, are on your level.
