L.A. Duo 18+ Are No Less Creepy On Their New Mixtape FORE

Download 15 tracks of skewed R&B excess.

February 17, 2016

Ahead of the expected spring release of the follow up to 2014's acclaimed debut album Trust, L.A. duo 18+ have dropped FORE, a free 15-track venture into their familiar territory of skewed R&B beats and darkly sexual themes. The mixtape, which pits spiked melodies against explicit and uncompromising lyrics, is intended as a taste of what to expect from their sophomore record.

La di da di dum, Samia, the female half of the LA pair, sings breathily at one point, before adding, in a sinister twist: I will kill your heart. Another track finds her partner Justin's barbed vocals drenched in reverb and layered over a brutally mechanical beat. That shit she got on reminds me of my first pill, he woozily intones. Download the entire narcotic pop project here and revisit The FADER's interview with 18+.
