Travel played an important role in the creative process for PJ Harvey's new album. "Gathering information from secondary sources felt too far removed for what I was trying to write about," she explained in a statement. "I wanted to smell the air, feel the soil and meet the people of the countries I was fascinated with."
This resulted in eleven fresh songs. Today Harvey shared the forthcoming album's opening track, "Community Of Hope," via the BBC. Listen here around the 50 minute mark. The Hope Six Demolition Project arrives on April 15.
