East London MC Isaac Danquah is known for his melancholic, introspective touch, and new single "The Mantra" is no different. Over a spaced-out, finger-snapping beat, the video for the track sees him contemplate self-growth and success against the backdrop of an eerily still London night.
“'The Mantra' is more than a vent," Danquah told The FADER over email. "It was more of a passionate outcry that had amassed within my soul over time. It came to me at a period in my life when I was witnessing situations [that were] potentially jeopardizing my freedom to create. I linked up with long-time collaborator/producer Lupus Cain, who was able to conjure a certain energy.” Watch the video—directed by Nathan Miller and Anthony Williams—above.
