“We’re all students of Dr. Dre.”

April 28, 2016

Terrace Martin has been around for a minute. Though it was his work on Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly—which he helped to shape by helming the contributions of a wide array of collaborators, including his childhood friends Kamasi Washington and Thundercat—that served as his introduction to music fans beyond the realm of modern jazz, he's been a steady, indispensable presence at studios in and around L.A. In addition to his brilliant solo work, he also put in years working with Snoop Dogg.
