Dallas, Texas by way of St. Paul, Minnesota producer Cardo has been having an incredible year, though it may go unnoticed by some. Cardo produced an entire mixtape with Bay Area up-and-comer Nef The Pharaoh in January, appeared in the credits on Drake's Views, and laced Kamaiyah with a smooth beat for her new single "How You Want It" last week.
On Friday, Cardo and Detroit rapper, and seminal member of Doughboyz Cashout, Payroll Giovanni released their collaborative album Big Bossin Volume 1. The pair compliment each other perfectly throughout the 18-track project: Cardo's sunny, West Coast-inflected production style vividly meets the snowy Detroit streets that Payroll conjures. 808 cowbells abound.
