Common is taking his Oscar-winning self to the small screen. The rapper will be the lead in a RZA-produced Black Samurai television series. According to a Variety report, the show is still in development, with the star attachment being the first step in getting the series set up at a network. It will be based on a series of books from 1974 written by Marc Olden. The books were also inspiration for a Black Samurai movie in 1977. In the more near future, Common will be appearing in Suicide Squad and John Wick 2.
