“Everything was created with the idea that this is something I would want to wear.”

Between Kanye West and Justin Bieber, it's well established that it's cool to wear your own merchandise now. Zayn Malik recognises this and has launched a range of merch inspired by his solo debut Mind Of Mine. The full range, which can be seen here, also incorporates designs inspired by his Pakistani heritage. Malik has worked with Mark Wilkinson on the 23-item line, a designer better known for creating t-shirts for metal bands including Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.

“Working with Mark gave me a licence to do something exciting conceptually with a lot of colour and detail," Malik told Vogue. “Everything was created with the idea that this is something I would want to wear." Speaking about the items that include Urdu script in their design, Malik added: “My family is from Pakistan, so having artwork in Urdu has huge significance to me.”
