Maty Noyes, the L.A. singer who made a very public debut on The Weeknd's Beauty Behind The Madness, arrives today with her debut solo single "In My Mind." Noyes, who also co-wrote and provided vocals for Kygo's "Stay," addresses a partner on the track who is making her uneasy. On the song's hook, Noyes sings, Got me running other places in my mind/ how could you even say I never tried?. It's perfect pop, crafted by Noyes and Norwegian songwriter William Wiik Larsen; the pair also wrote "Stay" together.

Noyes told The FADER over email that the song comes from an experience with a personal relationship that she was too in love to walk away from. “Love makes people do and say crazy things," she said. "Sometimes you need to escape to a place within to gain perspective and remind yourself that the relationship is worth it, even when it doesn’t feel that way in the moment. "In My Mind" talks about this need for clarity — the need for a mental escape.”
