The prospect of adding a new installment to Ice Cube's classic Friday series has long been discussed by fans as well as the actors and writers involved in the original movies. On August 21, Ice Cube to took to Twitter to dispel rumors that his son, O'Shea Jackson Jr., would be starring in Last Friday, writing, "This is fake. My son doesn't have a Facebook account. Can't mess with a classic."
Today, Ice Cube announced that there had been a meeting regarding the new Friday film, saying he was on board with a fourth movie under certain conditions. "Can't do Last Friday unless we can do it right," he wrote on Twitter. "Ball is in New Line Cinema's hands. Bat is in mine."
Representatives for Ice Cube and New Line Cinema were not immediately available for comment.
