If you're unfamiliar with Wil$on, the 21-year old South Central rapper's "Hot" video could reveal more about him beyond his lyrical skill. The clip is shot through an ultra fisheye lens to resemble a door's peep hole, and follows Wil$on on a first-person tour through neighborhoods, memories, and dreams. Wil$on himself isn't afraid to get personal in lyrics that cover struggles, social consciousness, and the unshakeable feeling that he'll win.

Over email, Wil$on told The FADER how the song's groovy beat got completed, and how the finished song is cathartic for him. "We (Cook, Jango and I) were sample searching and came across the acapella to Busta Rhymes's "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See" and knew instantly we needed to use it. Cook&Jango already had the beat sitting for 3-4 months and it fit the sample perfectly. I wrote and recorded the verses within that same hour. The song just felt good to make and everything fell into place perfectly, I got a lot of things off my chest and got to do it in a way that doesn't feel like I was rapping people's heads off."
