Atlanta rapper Scotty ATL has had a brutal 2016. Nine people close to him have died this year. All around his time on tour with B.o.B. On September 21 he will be releasing his newest project Daily Bread, which focuses on the loss and pain he's felt this year, and dealing with those things. He now shares the Ty Dolla $ign featuring track "Bye Bye."

The song begins with the sound of a drive-by shooting as the two artists honor those they've lost and deal with never seeing them again. It's a heavily emotional song, one that Scotty can barely bring himself to listen to now.

In a statement to The FADER about the track Scotty said,

"I cried when I recorded it. It was a tough song to get through and even for me to listen to now. ‘Bye Bye’ is about what happened to me when I lost 4 people in 4 weeks. It talks about exactly what happened, verbatim. You can probably hear me crying rapping that shit. It’s one of my favorite songs on the project but it’s the hardest for me to listen to - I don’t play it by myself, I only listen to it when there’s other people around.

I love working with Ty on this record b/c we share that soulfulness in music. He’s able to drive home those kinds of points b/c he’s been through some of the same things I’ve been through. You can hear it in his voice."

Hear "Bye Bye" below and grab it from iTunes here on September 21.
