Rayana Jay is a 22-year-old singer out of the East Bay's Richmond, California, with choir bona fides and a sharp pen. On October 27, she'll release her debut album, called Sorry About Last Night.
"Nothin To Talk About" is a glassy new song taken from that project, which follows a breaking love from initial desperation through sober resignation. "I wrote about a personal experience I found myself in where I was literally trying anything and everything to fix something that was completely ruined," Jay explained via email. "The song is about putting your pride aside and admitting when you've taken that L. We've all lost in love at some point, it's just time to admit it."
With production from Mikos Da Gawd, Flow-Fi's Fortune, and 1-O.A.K., Sorry About Last Night will dive deep into "love and liquor, being cool and being sad, and so on and so forth," Jay said. Sounds like a win for all of us.
