London club Fabric club will take their appeal against its recent closure to court on November 28. The date was announced as part of the club's latest statement issued to those who have helped raise funds for the club since Islington Council revoked their license in September. Managing director Gary Kilbey confirmed that the appeal will be heard at north London's at Highbury Magistrates Court.
FACT reports that Kilbey told supporters, “We have engaged a legal team headed by industry heavyweight Philip Kolvin QC and assisted by leading licensing solicitors Woods Whur." Both members of the legal team are working for discounted fees.
In addition to the court date, Kilbey also confirmed that the appeal fund currently stands at £253,000 (322,000). Over 150,000 people signed a petition to save the club ahead of last month's ruling while Disclosure, Skrillex, Four Tet, and Hudson Mohawke were among the artists that lamented the demise of the club.
