Watch Boogie’s Surreal, Arresting Video For “Nigga Needs”

A highlight from the Compton rapper’s Thirst 48 Pt. II project.

Boogie dropped off the visual for "Nigga Needs," a highlight from his recent Thirst 48 Pt. II project, this afternoon. The video centers on a surreal concept: inside a white-walled museum space, two miniature Boogies rap on top of pedestals for a crowd of (mostly old and white) viewers. One of the two has been shot in the stomach, sporting a blood-stained white tee. The other has a black eye, and holds a small, sleeping girl in his arms. It's an intense meditation on questions about the nature of performance, and audience, from the Compton rapper.
