Meek Mill Premieres “Blue Notes” Video

The heartfelt DC4 cut gets a simple, shadowy video.

A couple of weeks ago, Meek Mill stormed Hot 97 with an electric seven-minute freestyle that was a tear-jerking reminder of just why the Philly rapper is so crucial. A few weeks later, he followed up that special moment with DC4, his equally urgent, long-awaited album. There are truly no duds on the project, which features collaborations with buzzing acts like 21 Savage and cleverly puts Nicki Minaj and Lil Uzi Vert on a song together.

A stand-out is "Blue Notes," a blues-y, Snowy White-sampling track that sees Meek at his best: emotionally honest and packing dense bars into a breathless flow. Today, he's premiering a video for the track. The simple, shadowy clip is an apt snapshot of this moment in Meek's life. As ever, he's surrounded by his loyal DreamChasers crew, doing the things they might've done on any given night in Philly — counting stacks and throwing dice. The difference, though, is that he's got way less to be blue about these days.
