Q-Tip Wants To Have “A Serious Discussion” With Kanye About His Trump Support

Q-Tip briefly mentioned his need to have "a serious discussion" with Kanye West, after the latter voiced his support for President-elect Donald Trump at a concert in San Jose.

Watch an excerpt from his interview with Bloomberg above. "It's difficult because, that's my brother, I love him," the A Tribe Called Quest rapper and producer said when asked about West's behavior. "I reached out to him, and I'm hoping that we just get to talk... I really care about that dude, but his remarks are something that require us having a real serious discussion."

Q-Tip and Kanye West have been friends and musical associates for years. Tip signed a solo deal with West's G.O.O.D. Music label in 2012, and Ye has celebrated Tip's name among other legendary MCs. In 2013, A Tribe Called Quest opened for Kanye West on the Yeezus tour, then billed as their final performances ever (until a reunion on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon led to the recording of their latest album We got it from Here... Kanye West recently cancelled all of the remaining Saint Pablo tour dates before being hospitalized for exhaustion.
