Mahershala Ali—whose monster 2016 included a part on Luke Cage and a Golden Globe nom for his role in Best Picture winner Moonlight—stopped by Jimmy Kimmel live for an interview on last night's show. During the conversation, he revealed that he once tried out for a part on HBO's Game of Thrones, but tanked in the audition.
“I think my audition guaranteed that I wasn’t almost on Game of Thrones,” Ali told Kimmel. “That was one of the worst auditions of my life.” Ali read for the part of a “merchant who gets locked in a safe," but after getting thrown a curveball during his audition, he couldn't get into a groove and missed out on the part.
