If you were feeling the deep candor of Kanye West's "Real Friends," Chicago producer iLL Brown has assembled a worthy companion piece, simply called "Friends." Freddie Gibbs remerges with some pained bars, while BJ The Chicago Kid threads a lyrical sample of the titular Whodini track into a chorus that's wholly drained of funk, but still a good time. G-Wiz keeps the nostalgic melancholy going over iLL Brown's dusty, piano-driven boom-bap that will have you nodding your head to get the tears out your eyes.
