"Ego Deathbed," the new song from Orchin premiering today on The FADER, is a sad and quite lovely hybrid: shoegaze, Cocteau Twins-style dream-pop, and new wave all form a sadly neon ode to the beginnings of overcoming a struggle.

"A lot of the EP deals with overcoming doubt, particularly self doubt," Orchin a.k.a. Jeremy McLennan told The FADER over email. "'Ego Deathbed' is about you as your own worst enemy. Its sound is intentionally menacing, like your ego is hunting you down. It's a dark point in the record but marks a turning point where things start to look up — that cycle that is basically life as someone trying to put themselves out there creatively."

Listen to "Ego Deathbed" below. Orchin will release his self-titled EP in March.
