Lupe Fiasco's new album DROGAS Light came out today (with a special early stream yesterday on Billboard). So really, Lupe's one of few people who have spent enough time with the record to properly review it. And he's gone and done just that, posting a criticism of DROGAS Light on Twitter along with a rating: 7/10.

The record is "a mixed bag," according to the Chicago rapper. "DROGAS Light is a refinement of [his 2011 album] LASERS. Period," he writes, saying that the record is a distillation of two different personas: "Champagne Lupe" and "Moonshine Lupe." It's something he feels able to do now that he doesn't have "the label or personal pressures to 'please everyone repeatedly' on my back."

Read his tweets, which include his justification for the score, below. It's "The only review of #DROGASLight that matters...," according to Lupe.

Lupe Fiasco has two more albums to release in 2017, DROGAS and Skull, before he quits the format entirely, "Which I'm very excited about because I feel there is really nothing more of value or interest I can do under the album format without repeating myself or setting unrealistic expectations," he writes in his review of DROGAS Light.
