David Bowie: The Last Five Years, the Bowie documentary made its UK debut on the BBC this year, is coming to HBO soon. The film documents the last stages of Bowie's life and career, including his Lazarus musical, and the recording sessions behind his final masterpiece, Blackstar.
The Last Five Years is a follow up to a previous doc, Five Years, produced in 2013 for BBC Two. It includes interviews with collaborators and unseen archival footage, and was met with a warm critical reception after its UK debut last month. One Telegraph review compared it to a vigil just after his death in Brixton, calling it "both a stunned wake and a glorious celebration." No word on when it'll make its HBO debut, but you can watch a trailer below for now.
