Def Jam Recordings co-founder Russell Simmons will be headlining and leading a unity rally titled

Simmons organized the event in response to President Trump's controversial Muslim ban, which has currently been temporarily blocked by a federal appeals court. Simmons has also told NBC that "I love doing this work. It's purposeful. It makes me happy."

This is also not the first time Simmons has organized an event of this nature. According to NBC, Simmons and co-organizer Rabbi Mark Schneier held an event like this six years ago in response to New York representative Peter King's announcement to hold hearings about Muslim extremists.

As of right now, the #IAmAMuslimToo event's Facebook page says there will be 1,500 in attendance, with 6,600 interested.
