Netflix has shared the trailer for Dear White People, an upcoming series based on Justin Simien's 2014 film of the same name. The show follows a group of students of color at the predominantly white Winchester University. The characters navigate the racial tensions on campus and challenges the idea of a "post-racial" America. But the trailer reminds the viewers that the series is meant to speak to everyone.

Brandon P. Bell reprises his role as Troy Banks from the film. The series also stars Logan Browning, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, and Ashley Blaine Featherson and will premiere on Netflix on April 28. Watch the trailer above.
