Speaking in a lengthy New Yorker piece published this week, XL Recordings, Richard Russell explained that a bout of ill health spurred him on to finally release a project of his own. Made under the name Everything Is Recorded, Russell revealed that he has worked with a host of guests including Brian Eno, Mark Ronson, and Peter Gabriel.
Last night, May 8, Russell shared a new song from the upcoming album. The track is called "Close But Not Quite" and features Sampha on vocals. It incudes a sample of Curtis Mayfield's “The Makings of You” and was debuted on BBC Radio 1. Listen to "Close But Not Quite" here.
