The name of "Love Theme," the new experimental trio from Austin Milne, Simon Frank, and Alex Zhang Hungtai of Dirty Beaches and Last Lizard, could be a nod to Angelo Badalamenti's score for Twin Peaks. Like that tv series, "Desert Island," the group's new track, is gloomy and full of secrets. The atmosphere of the brooding song is reminiscent of watching a bombed-out landscape from inside of an old faulty television. And yet, the layers of doleful noise suggest that the most immediate trouble we're hearing may not be the deepest.

Love Theme's self-titled debut album is out June 23. The album was recorded remotely over the course of a year between the bandmembers homes of London, LA and Taipei.
