Watch Paramore Cover Drake’s “Passionfruit”

The latest BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session features a stripped-back performance by the pop-punk group.

June 19, 2017

In the midst of the British leg of a world tour in support of their latest album After Laughter, pop-punk favorites Paramore stopped by BBC Radio 1 today for an interview and performance session in their Live Lounge. In addition to current single "Hard Times," the band performed a cover of Drake's "Passionfruit," a fan-favorite off March's More Life. The same song was covered by British producer Mura Masa in his Live Lounge session last month.

Lead singer Hayley Williams took on vocal duties while the band provided a re-instrumentation of the tropical tune, heavy on plucked guitar strings in place of the original's steel drums. Near the end of the performance, Williams weaved in another familiar Drake hit with a few lines from 2013's "Hold On, We're Going Home." Check out the video above, and head over to BBC for the full performance and interview.
