O.G. Ron C & The Chopstars Are Hosting Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

The Houston collective are giving out supplies and hosting a fundraiser.

Chopped-and-screwed pioneers O.G. Ron C & The Chopstars are helping their hometown of Houston recover from Hurricane Harvey. On Friday September 1 at 1 p.m. local time, the Chopstars will post up at Mike's Inspection Station at 3801 Lockwood Drive and give out supplies to those affected by the storm. The event is called "Hip Hop Heroes: Healing The Hood After Harvey."

The group is also partnering with Nu Phi Omicron Music Organization INC. for a crowdfunding campaign to help Houston rebuild. "We know all too well the destruction and devestation involved with these storms and the power of community that it takes to rebuild," the Chopstars wrote announcing the fundraiser. Beyoncé, Solange, Lil B, and J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans have all led charitable efforts that focus on working with the local communities and organizations in Houston.
