Frank Ocean turned 30 on Saturday, October 28. He celebrated over the weekend with an extravagant-looking party inspired by ball culture and documentary of the scene, Paris Is Burning. A few clips from the party, to which Ocean wore skin-tight sequin trousers and blew out candles on an Eiffel Tower themed cake, have emerged online and can be seen below. Tyler, The Creator was also in attendance while Reddit suggests SZA was at the party too.
Other names on the guestlist for the ball included Ru Paul’s Drag Race stars Gia Gunn, Shangela, and Kim Chi while Joanne the Scammer sang him “Happy Birthday."
Ocean recently suggested in a rare interaction with the press that he is looking forward to his 30s, namely hitting his "sexual prime." The singer previously paid homage to 1990 movie Paris Is Burning when he sampled dialogue from the drag queen Crystal LaBeija in the track “Ambience 001” on 2016 album Endless.
