Following Lil Peep's death in November, many artists took to social media to mourn the life of the 21-year-old rapper, including Makonnen, Lil Uzi Vert, and others. As Pigeons & Planes points out, Smokeasac, who produced many of Peep's biggest songs, recently took to Twitter to hint at the upcoming release of a posthumous album, Come Over When You're Sober Pt. 2, the follow-up to Peep's August debut.
"It will come out when the time is right. When peeps family approves. just know it exists. be patient for Gus," he wrote on Twitter. Soon after Peep's death, Smokeasac wrote a memorial to his friend and collaborator on his website.

On Tuesday, a toxicology report from the Pima County Medical Examiner's office confirmed that Lil Peep's death was the result of an overdose from combining Fentanyl and Xanax. At the end of November, Lil Peep's mom endorsed a social media campaign to get Come Over When You're Sober Pt. 1 to No. 1 on the albums chart and promised “more music in the future.”
