When I last spoke with Tommy Paxton-Beesley, the multi-instrumentalist and R&B artist known as River Tiber, he said he was getting more confident in his voice. "What I've been working on lately is so much more direct, clear, and concise," he said of his music following Indigo, his debut album. "I've been trying to trim away everything else and go right to what I'm trying to say."

River Tiber's brand new song "Patience," which The FADER is proudly premiering, certainly feels like River Tiber's boldest statement yet. He's known as an intense collaborator with massive artists like Post Malone, Ty Dolla $ign, Kaytranada, and many more, while redefining the sound of Toronto soul along with contemporaries like Daniel Caesar and Charlotte Day Wilson. But "Patience," guided by vocal melodies that ghost, squeak, and tremble, has a brand new complexity that's big and daring and just wonderful. “This song is about leaving things unsaid,” River Tiber told us over email, and we're gonna follow his lead and suggest you just listen to "Patience" above. Watch for more River Tiber in 2018.
