In a cover story for Esquire, Donald Glover discussed the upcoming second season of his FX show Atlanta. The show returns on March 1 after a hiatus, and Glover says Atlanta changed some over time. “It feels like it grew into something else,” Glover said. "It’s a little more short-story-oriented.”

Glover described his approach to the second season as similar to Q-Tip's when A Tribe Called Quest was working on its second album The Low End Theory. “After their first album, he was like, ‘I’m kicking this sophomore-slump shit in the ass.’ ”

Glover won two Emmys for Atlanta's first season, Best Lead Actor in a Comedy and Best Directing for a Comedy Series. This week, Glover appeared as Lando Calrissian in the teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story.
