SoundCloud is expanding its monetization program for selected artists
SoundCloud Premier will add new career development programs for invited creators.
SoundCloud has announced new additions to SoundCloud Premier, the platform's invite-only monetization and development program for audio creators.
A press release described "new marketing and promotional opportunities to help SoundCloud Premier creators build their careers on and off the platform." They include potential placement in SoundCloud's curated playlists, in-house produced promotions for rising artists, brand sponsorships, performances at pop-ups produced by SoundCloud, and technical support.
“SoundCloud has seen accelerated growth over the last two quarters, and as we grow, we want to ensure creators on the platform grow with us” SoundCloud's Chief Executive Officer Kerry Trainor wrote in the press release. “As direct monetization empowers more artists every day, only SoundCloud Premier combines a leading revenue share with tools for creators to directly interact with their fans and, now, opportunities to access SoundCloud’s global listener base.”
SoundCloud Premier is inviting artists interested in joining to visit its homepage. The platform intends to add many more selected users in 2018.
