The Dutch designer is behind the video's most striking sartorial choice — the vagina pants worn by Monáe as she dances in the desert and simulates birthing actress Tessa Thompson. Lantink is linked to prestigious Amsterdam art institutions Rietveld Academy and Sandberg Institute, and the structured pussy trousers are an off-shoot of Lantink's Low-Rise Vag Jeans from his Fall/Winter 18 collection. Beyond the vaginal, Lantink's designs are maximalist in nature, often utilizing clashing fabrics and prints with billowing silhouettes.
