The 1975 to release new song “Give Yourself A Try” on Thursday

The U.K. group is promising a “brief inquiry into online relationships.”

In early May, The 1975 launched a countdown that would reach its end point on June 1. It seems that date will arrive a little early with the band confirming its new single, titled "Give Yourself A Try," will premiere on Thursday, May 31.

The single, expected to be the first release from the British group's next album, will be premiering on BBC Radio 1. Frontman Matty Healy tweeted the news alongside a new image of the band. The picture is accompanied by the phrase MFC -- A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships."

In 2017 Healy told Apple Music's Zane Lowe that the band's new album will be titled Music For Cars. That is the name of their an EP released in 2013.

Earlier this year the band wiped its social media platforms back to mid-July, when the band headlined U.K. festival Latitude and brought the era of last album I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It to a close.
